Ski boot buckles and fastening systems for downhill skiing and ski mountaineering are at the core of our production. With approximately 55% of the global market share and 14 million buckles produced each year, GIDI Meccanica is a trusted partner for leading winter sports equipment brands.


These components are manufactured using aluminum, steel, zinc alloy, stainless steel, and engineering polymers, ensuring high safety and performance even in extreme conditions. The production process integrates technologies such as cold forming, thread rolling and tapping, CNC machining, aesthetic finishing, and assembly.

From idea to product

CO-DESIGN

We collaborate with our partners’ R&D teams from the concept phase, actively contributing to product definition and bringing our manufacturing know-how into the very early stages of development.

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT + F.E.M. ANALYSIS

We use finite element simulation to predict the behavior of components under load, identifying potential issues already at the design stage and thereby reducing development time and costs.

PROTOTYPING

We produce functional samples using pilot tooling, CNC machining, and 3D printing, with a typical lead time of 3–6 weeks.

TESTING

In our in-house laboratory, operational since July 2024, we perform dynamic and static tests to simulate real operating conditions of the component: life cycle tests, load tests, and performance verification.

PROCESS ENGINEERING

We translate the design into a concrete manufacturing process by defining production parameters, final tooling, and the quality control plan.

PRODUCTION

We manufacture through high-volume cold forming, CNC machining, rolling and tapping, ensuring full batch traceability.

FINISHING

We offer a wide range of treatments: zinc plating, painting, pad printing, anodizing, polishing, cataphoresis, and sublimation, with a capacity of 1.1 million painted parts per week.

We manage both manual and automated assembly lines, with a production capacity of 350.000 assembled levers per week.
