High-precision threading
In the thread rolling and tapping department, GIDI Meccanica produces internal and external threads through plastic deformation of the material, without material removal. The result is precise screws, nuts, and threaded components with consistent quality and zero material waste.
Semi-finished part refinement
The process is also applied to semi-finished parts from cold forming, improving their mechanical and dimensional characteristics. Plastic deformation compacts the material structure, increasing the component’s fatigue resistance.
Speed and efficiency
Through plastic deformation technology, the process is fast and cost-effective: no chips, no waste, reduced production times and costs without compromising finished product quality.

To produce internal and external threads, GIDI Meccanica uses thread rolling tapping machines up to M20 and rolling machines up to M50, in which the material is progressively deformed and redistributed by the action of the tools, forming the thread crests and ensuring precision, quality, and efficiency in every component. ROLLING MACHINE
We perform roll tapping operations (internal threading without chip removal), in which the tap rotates and advances inside the hole, plastically deforming the material until the internal thread is formed..

Thread rolling (external thread forming without material removal) is carried out using different technologies depending on the type of component:
  • for solid parts, using rack rolling machines
  • for hollow parts, using 2- or 3-roll thread rolling machines
